This evening preschool class is designed for our 3-5 year old artists who love to be immersed in drawing, painting, and sculpture. We will spend the whole 60 minute class time, exploring new art medium, practicing our art skills, and exercising our creativity.
Artists enrolling for this class must be three years olds and be able to use the toilet independently if necessary.

SPRING SEMESTER ENROLLMENT BEGINS DECEMBER 1ST.
January: Stained Glass Paintings in Acrylic MEDIA: Acrylic paint on canvas ARTIST: Franz Marc SKILLS: Controlling the paint, blending, glazing
DESCRIPTION: Create the look of stain glass using acrylic paints on canvas. Artists will design their own stained-glass pattern. They learn to control the paint inside the lines, blend wet paint colors together, and build up shear glazes for complete coverage. Wear old clothes--these paints are not washable! Finished paintings will be 8x10.
February: Mixed Media Sunflower Art MEDIA: Mixed--sculpting, painting, and collaging ARTIST: VanGogh & Matisse SKILLS: Layering, composition, balance
DESCRIPTION: We'll take inspiration from Vincent VanGogh and Henri Matisse for this crazy mixed media artwork. Backgrounds will be patterned collages and our flowers POP off the canvas as 3D clay sculptures! We'll finish our artwork with paint for the stem, leaves, and vase.
March: Patterned Ice Cream Prints MEDIA: Printmaking ARTIST: Andy Warhol SKILLS: Positive-Negative Space, Learning to use printing tools
DESCRIPTION: Carve a different design into each scoop! We'll be using a special printing foam that allows us to explore block printing without the sharp cutting tools. We'll learn to use brayers, printing barons, and all the best tools to pull the perfect final print! Wear old clothes on printing days -- our ink is permanent.
If you already have an account from any of our 2018 summer classes or 2018 fall classes, you can log-in and select your classes as soon as registration opens. If you do not have an account, you can create one at anytime so that you're ready to go as soon as your classes become available.
Month-to-month tuition is $39. There are no enrollment fees or supply fees. That $39 includes all four classes, plus make-up sessions and additional studio time on Wednesday evenings as needed. Class tuition must be paid prior to the start of the month. All tuition payments are paid online.
Semester enrollment for Spring Semester is $165.75. Semester enrollment saves families 15% on tuition, guarantees your spot in class, and earns you the title of Orange Easel Studio Club member. Studio Club members enjoy a number of discounts, including half price birthday parties.
What are they going to paint? Whatever they want! In fact, we may not even HAVE paint out everyday.
The art world is SO BIG. Our school year is designed to expose students to just how big ART is. We focus on a different medium each month. From chalk pastels and charcoal, to ink and clay. We even do printmaking, fibers arts, and metals! Check the class description each month to learn what medium we're learning and the artists that we're studying for a general idea.
Can I bring the younger/older sibling? These classes are designed especially for your preschooler, but we know that you've got your hands full with more than one young artist. Please refer to our Sibling Policy here:
Can we just drop in? Or just do one class? The classes listed above are a monthly commitment. Each class builds on the next. If you're looking for a one-time class, we recommend one of our Art Camps or our Bonus Classes. We also recommend that you follow us on social media; we like to post little pop-up classes there sometimes!
Can we just TRY a class? Similar to above, if you come to only class, you won't be getting the whole picture! We don't offer trial classes; however, we do stand by our artist experience and guarantee your satisfaction. If you enroll your artist and decide after one class that it's not for you, we'll happily refund your tuition.
What if we have to miss a class? We have a make-up policy JUST for that. Our make-up times are dedicated hours that we've set aside for our students who need to get caught up or who need some extra time on a project.
If we enroll for the semester and our schedules change, can we switch classes? As long as we have room in a class, we can switch meeting times and even studio locations. (For example, if you artist is enrolled in the Monday Fundamentals and you find out later that music class is going to be on Mondays, we can switch you to the Tuesday class as long there is room in that class)
